The new website is live.  We hope you like the new look and feel to the site.  We will be updating this section with news much more frequently than with the old site and we will also be using newer technology to make the site more interactive and more enjoyable for you.  Ultimately though .. get into the Dojang and enjoy your training.

Starting TKD

Starting Taekwon Do is simple. All you have to do is turn up before your first lesson and introduce yourself to the instructor and you can start there and then. Actually you have a choice of starting the first lesson there and then or watching the first lesson from the sidelines. Although most people who watch it for the first time are itching to have a go there and then.

All you need to wear is loose sports clothing such as jogging bottoms and a tee-shirt. Taekwon Do is a bare foot sport so you do not need the worlds flashiest most expensive trainers. All you need is you.

Let the instructor know whether you have any previous injuries or any recent injuries and they can cater for your special needs if you have them.

Everything else you need is available from your instructor and they will run through this all with you. All you need to do is order the (reasonably priced) beginners pack. This includes everything you need plus more and includes your enrolment and insurance. For more information on what that pack contains then please click here.

If you have any specific fears, questions or worries then just ask. It's as simple as that. Everyone who starts Taekwon Do is equal. No one has any advantages over anyone else. So if you are not tall, not fit, not flexible or not this that or the other then no problem. Everyone starts the same and everyone has the same chance of becoming a Black Belt themselves one day.
